Supervised by Barbara McCarthy-Kerber

Hello, my name is Amber Joy Neufeld-Phillips. I graduated with my MA in Marriage and Family Therapy in May 2024 from Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary. I have since worked in a variety of centers including school-based therapy, with indigenous populations and serving the general community as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. As a result I have worked with a variety of people in varying stages of live from differing culture backgrounds. Prior to this I received my BA in Early Childhood Development in 2019 from FPU, and certificate in American Sign Language from Fresno Community College.

Professionally, I maintain the value of a person~centered approach. I have received training in Internal Family Systems theory, Play Therapy, Experiential, and Emotionally Focused Therapy all from a Humanistic frame.

Children are a passion of mine as I worked in education for two decades before obtaining my MA as Marriage and Family Therapist. In this field, I discovered an additional passion of development in throughout all life stages. This includes working towards breaking generational trauma, healing systems, developing healthy identities, promoting autonomy and agency, and being allowed to externalize and heal wounds.

I was born and raised in this mountain community and as a result I truly love nature and finding joy in the simple things. Hiking and swimming with my two dogs, a family BBQ, cooking, painting, sharing a cup of coffee and reading are some of my hobbies and self-care activities.
